The Lily Townsend Award was donated by Caroline Neall at the LSC Credit Suisse Networking Event at Canary Wharf in September 2007 with a view to awarding it for the 2008/2009 season. It is to the value of £1,000 and she requested that it be named after her Aunty Lily who was a Christian lady who lived near the local swimming baths where Caroline was training and who provided cakes and other goodies when Caroline had finished her session. Caroline wanted it to go to a young girl who was not necessarily an obvious choice for a major award but who had talent and it was to be an encouragement.

It has been awarded to Charlotte Guest who is 1st Year Junior racer. We all hope it will give her the encouragement and help to continue with the magnificent results she achieved last season whilst still racing in the Children's category.
