I feel like last year I let myself get too wrapped up in the FIS point chase. Having already spent 2 and a half months on snow by November, I know that I am going into this season stronger both physically and technically than I ever have. For the coming season, I look forward to racing all over Europe and I hope to be able to take some of my best skiing into the race situations. I also hope to have the opportunity to go to the World Junior Championships again this year, last year was an incredible learning experience and would love to benefit from that again.
BIOGRAPHY I started skiing at the age of 8 and joined my local race club (Gordon Skiers) immediately after finishing lessons. From here, I went on race camps abroad and also attended the British Ski Academy, Les Houches. This is where I was hit by the realisation of the dreams and aspirations I held for my future in ski racing. As my skiing developed, I was selected for the British Children’s Ski Team at the age of 12, and have recently just been selected for the British Junior Team and reselected for the Scottish Ski Team. I have also been given many opportunities to represent my country in the World Schools Championships in 2007, 2008, and 2010. I was also delighted to be chosen to represent Team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Poland in 2009. Besides from skiing, I also take interest in football. A sport in which I used to play for the Scottish Development Squad in the Aberdeenshire region. Unfortunately, due to lack of time, I had to make a decision between the two sports. Dreams became clearer and my love for the sport became stronger and in my head, there was no competition, skiing is where I belong! Currently, I am working hard to improve my results from last year, setting myself goals to meet in terms of FIS points. There’s certainly a lot of work to be done in many areas but I am more than looking forward to the challenge and the benefits that will result from them. My goals for next season are to lower my FIS points to meet my targets and maybe even beyond. I am also looking to make great improvements in fitness levels and my tactical ability on the hill.
