PROFILECharlotte Davies (1991) Wales – GBR DOB 31/01/91
UPDATED NOVEMBER 27th 2011 After a long, hard summer of training it’s now time to hit the white stuff for the season. During this summer I have spent countless hours in the gym, 6 times a week with my personal trainer working on every aspect of my fitness in order to make me stronger, more agile and prepare me for the coming winter. I made a trip to Les Deux Alpes in the summer for 2 weeks of training. Here I worked on my technical side of skiing for most of the 2 weeks in order to get me into a perfect starting position for the season. Although changing your posture had some ups and downs for me during this period, I feel I gained a lot of knowledge and some huge improvements were made even in this short time. During my time at home this summer, as well as being pushed to the limits in the gym, I also managed to retain my NO.1 Artificial/Indoor seed by winning the Welsh, Scottish GS and Irish Championships and therefore keep my 0 points. It’s now time to put into action all of the hard work that I have gained this summer, I have become at least twice as strong, lost body fat and gained muscular weight, strength and endurance. I am heading out to Tignes and racing sharpish. After this, I look forward to traveling round Europe and getting races under my belt. My goals for this season are to lower my FIS points, reach my goals and become a more tactical skier. Thank you to the Ladies Ski Club for their continued support on helping me achieve my goals.
2011 This years sees me going into my first year skiing full-time, I have previously only trained and raced around the school holidays whilst revising for exams. I have now finished my A levels and gained a University place which I have decided to defer to be able to ski full-time. I have started the season off with a two week training camp in Tignes with the Scottish Squad, which whom I will hopefully ski with all this season, I have returned back to the Uk for two weeks to complete fitness testing for Welsh Squad, then back out to Norway and Europe for the remainder of the season. I would like to thank the Ladies Ski Club for their support for the upcoming season and hopefully will reach my goals.
