PROFILE 2010Coming from children up to junior was a big thing for me. I was a little worried about bigger equipment, harder competition and a lot more rougher conditions. My first race of the season was in Geilo, in Norway with the England team. I didn't necessarily ski that well but it was first couple of races I just wanted to get some points under my belt. However from Norway I went home to catch up on School work. Then after Christmas I was off again. I went on to do the welsh in Chambery, Switzerland. This is one of the places I scored my sub 100. I was very happy. After Chambery I went to Meribel for a speed week my first chance on downhill skis, the first run went really well and I was full of confidence unfortunately the second run didn`t go very well and I crashed on the stadt after being taken to hospital with the orders to rest for ten days we were off to Bormio in Italy for the English champs where despite not doing the Super G, I won the Slalom and came third overall for the weeks competition. At the end of the season in Meribel, France I was looking forward to do the races at the British and the Scottish to compete with everyone. It was also nice to see some of my friends who I hadn't seen since last year. This is another place where I scored my best points. Altogether it's been a good season; I reached my goal which was to get under 100 points and to be selected for the British Youth Team! I just want to say a big thank you to my parents who supported me throughout the season. Emily Evans. |
