Biography
Originally from Arbroath , Scotland , I have spent all my winters in Courchevel , France where my parents run a chalet company, and until the age of 10, I spent my summers in Britain . I now permanently live in Courchevel with my family.
Both my parents are skiing instructors and the opportunity arose for me to ski from an early age.
My first memories of skiing are with the school and my friends.
While I was growing up I had plenty of opportunity's to ski. I skied during all the winter holidays, every weekend as well as Wednesday afternoons.
I progressed very quickly and was selected for the Courchevel Club des sport at the age of 6 where I trained in cross country skiing, ski jumping and alpine skiing, before I decided to choose Alpine skiing as my specialist discipline ( slalom and giant slalom) at the age of 9.
I am in the sports section at school, I am studying for the baccalaurea.
My best memories
I was selected for the International Jugend Cup for 5 consecutive years where I represented Courchevel. This is a great event between teams and I skied in Obersdorf ( Germany ), Schruns ( Austria ), Madessimo ( Italy ), Saas-Fee ( Switzerland ) and Courchevel (France). The best result I achieved from these races was 2 place in Gs and 3rd in Slalom. These races where a great experience , I had a lots of fun doing them.
FIS
My first FIS race was in Val Thorens in November 2009. In slalom, I gained 52 points and in GS 79 points. After that, I went to l'Alpes d'Huez, where I did one slalom and one giant. I then went on to race another FIS races but unfortunately while training I fell and twisted my right knee, at first the injury did not seem serious but after returning to training my knee began to give me lots of pain. With the help of my mum we consulted a local doctor who told me to simply rest for 3 weeks to let the injury settle down, but after seeing many different doctors I was told that my season was finished and that I would have to have an operation in May 2010. Fortunately now, I am now able to start racing again.
Thankfully, this summer, I was able to return to train Ushuaia, where I raced in GS (58 points) and in SL (58 points).
I am now preparing for the winter season and hope that the knee injury I received last December does not hinder my performance.
At the moment, I have 58 points in GS and the same in SL.
I was racing in Val Thorens last week-end (20-21 and 22 of November) but unfortunately, I didn't get to the bottom on any runs. So I did not get the opportunity to improve my FIS points.
My Goals for this season
My goals this season are to improve my FIS points, and do as well as I possibly can. I would love to get my points under 45 in both SL and GS.
Thank you
This is the first award I have won, so I was delighted to receive this award from the ladies ski club, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for supporting me. And that I will do as well as possible during this coming winter season, to show the ladies ski team, that I am worthy of your award.
