I first put skis on at eighteen months old. My Mum taught me the basics (and my twin sister) and this led to family ski holidays in Europe. We were sent off to ski school - however we hated this as the instructors went so slowly, and we eventually persuaded Mum (lots of tears !) to let us ski with her again. This was much more fun, as anybody who has ever skied with her knows, she dosen't turn very often, and she jumps over anything that comes into her path ! (this includes giant moguls, and the odd chalet !!). When we were nearly eight years old, Mum decided that she had run out of piste, and maybe things were getting a little dangerous, and we were signed up with a Race Club, the DHO. This was a great success, and we thoroughly enjoyed competing in our first proper ski races. At twelve years old I was selected for the British Children's Ski Team Children I, and again in Children II. Last April I won the Super G, the Giant Slalom, and the Overall Points Title in Children II Girls at the British Champs in Meribel. I am currently in the Junior British Alpine Team, and I would be very proud one day to represent GB as an Olympic athlete. I have a tough Season ahead of me, but I am excited and eager to compete in my first FIS races as a Junior.

I am most grateful to the Ladies Ski Club for selecting me to receive two awards this autumn, to help me with my race training and equipment expenses.
