Charlotte and her brother Robert, who is also a GB skier, were interviewed by BBC Radio Lancashire; the interview highlights their journey and their achievements, but is also a reminder of the expense associated with competing and the need for funding and financial support. LSC launches the Promise & Determination Scholarship
We are proud to introduce the new and innovative Promise & Determination Scholarship, a three-year financial commitment , supported by national snow sports charity Skiers Trust through its Ladies’ Ski Club Foundation Fund. The scholarship is designed to support promising British female athletes who face financial challenges in continuing their competitive snowsport careers. This scholarship will provide up to £2,000 per year for three years, helping to ease the financial burden of training, equipment, travel and competition fees. Candidates must be put forward by their coach.

Successes for LSC athletes at the GB champs
Many of our athletes competed in the British Champs in Santa Caterina last week and we had many podium finishes:
National Championships
Holly Tutt can first in the Super G and Molly Butler came first in the Slalom. There were second places for Holly in the Downhill, Abi Bruce in then GS and slalom and Emily Turner in Super G; Lois Jackson came third in both the GS and Slalom.
National Junior Championships
Holly Tutt can second in both the Downhill and Super G, Molly Butler came second in the GS and Abi Bruce was second in Slalom. Emily Turner came third in the Downhill and Super G and Lois Jackson was third in the GS and Slalom.

Holly Tutt Wins LSC Sponsored Super G at British Champs
LSC funded athlete, Holly Tutt, took the title of British Super G Champion at the British Champs in Santa Caterina this week. LSC sponsored the Super G National Championship race this year with the winner awarded one of our heritage LSC trophies. Holly was joined on the podium with fellow LSC member, Emily Turner who was second.
Jaz Taylor is overall winner of the Telemark World Cup and takes three Crystal Globes
Jaz has had an amazing season culminating with winning an astounding three Crystal Globes; she is Telemark World Cup Champion for both the Classic and Sprint disciplines and Overall World Champion. In additions she was third in the Parallel Sprint World Cup and won two Bronze Medals in the World Championships. A fantastic result! Congratulations Jaz. You can access GB Snowsport’s article here.

British Schoolgirls' Indoor Races
The Ladies’ Ski Club ran another successful series of indoor races at the Snozone in Milton Keynes on Sunday 6 October. Over 140 racers took part across 42 teams.
The winning school team was South Hampstead High School and the overall winner was Cecilia Hamer from South Hampstead High School. Congratulations to all the girls who took part and thank you to all the volunteers, without whom the event would not have gone ahead. Further details can be found here

Jaz Taylor takes Overall and Sprint Telemark titles for 2023/24
LSC athlete, Jaz Taylor, secured the Telemark Overall and Sprint Crystal Globes with a series of stunning performances at World Cup Finals in Pra Loup. Second place in the Sprint and first in Parallel Sprint gave Jaz unassailable leads in both rankings in a season that has delivered a remarkable eleven World Cup podiums, including five victories. Jaz now has now been on the World Cup podium an incredible 56 times!

AICC 2024 - Gold medal for the Senior Ladies A team
Over 35 LSC members were in fabulous resort of St Moritz last week for 16th AICC competition hosted by Swiss Academic Ski Club (SAS). LSC entered 5 teams of ladies across the three age categories. A great time was had by all with some super racing, amazing free skiing, wonderful hospitality and excellent weather. Our Senior ladies A team of Marguerite Nice, Sheridan Killwick, Clare Byam-Cook and Nikki Reid won their age category for the third year running, beating off stiff competition from DHO and Kandahar. LSC member Genevieve James was also on the podium as a part of the winning parallel slalom team.
